The year 2021 will mark the two hundredth anniversary of the death of Emperor Napoleon. For the occasion, the Army Museum and the Napoleon Fondation are offering a cultural season at Les Invalides entirely dedicated to this major figure in French history.

A restored necropolis, a reinvented permanent route, a major heritage exhibition and for the first time at the Museum, works by contemporary artists to question Napoleon’s heritage … so many opportunities to discover the one who since 1840 has rested under le Dôme, “with the French people whom loved so much“.

Uniting its efforts with those of the Napoleon Fondation, whose mission is to study and publicize everything relating to Napoleonic history, the Museum will offer a wide variety of cultural programs throughout the year, as well as a renewed look at the history of the site and its permanent collections linked to Napoleon.
